Top 3
1. Second Floor, New Building
Taking the title for the top spot is the second-floor new building, just outside the south cafeteria. It was the sole bathroom, which rated a 10 out of 10 for smell, with it “REALLY smelling like nothing.” The ceilings feel higher than those in other bathrooms, bringing a nice, airy look and feel. The boys’ bathroom had soap, towels, and most importantly, sinks; the girls had no towels, lowering the score. The environment is relatively chill, with lots of people socializing and dirt and grime kept to a minimum. However, the boys’ room yet again had trash on the ground. Be better, boys! Our overall and highest score was a 40 out of 50.
2. Fifth Floor, New Building
Although bustling and often crowded, the fifth floor has a bathroom that surprisingly did not disappoint. Neither bathroom smelled like anything, which is the best a bathroom can smell. Although the girls’ room was a bit dim, lowering the visual appeal, the boys’ room looked average. The girls’ room had no paper towels, while the boys had them just in the big stall. However, this bathroom is usually social and brings a fun atmosphere, leading to an overall score of 37 out of 50.
3. Sixth Floor, Old Building
Tucked away at the top of the north building, the sixth-floor bathroom is a remote location with relaxing vibes. Both girls and boys had little smell, with a faint cologne smell in the boys’ room. Both were clean but not spotless, and had an eerie rattling noise coming from the air vents. Resources were plentiful in both, yet the boys had a locked stall, lowering the score, as toilets are a necessity in any bathroom. Although it kind of just looked like an average bathroom, it’s a fan favorite that provides a peaceful and secluded environment. Ultimately, we gave it a score of 34.5 out of 50.
Bottom 3
8. North Weight Room
This bathroom should only ever be used if you’re in gym class. The only reason it even exists is if you simply cannot make it anywhere else when you’re in the weight room. And good luck if you’re using the men’s restroom, because finding it unlocked is becoming more and more of a rarity. It’s not that hellish of an environment, and there are usually resources, and it’s quiet if you pick the right time to go, but the complete lack of a men’s room really knocks this ranking down. Overall, this bathroom took home a 26 out of 50 score.
9. Fourth Floor, Old Building
In the words of musical and philosophical genius Fiona Apple, “I thought he was a man, but he was just a little boy”, and boy, it sure does ring true in here, because you boys treat this room like a damn pigsty. I feel wrong even calling it the men’s room, because it seems only boys have been here. There’s trash scattered about, almost as if it’s some sort of modern art installation about a community’s innate ability to blatantly disrespect their own sacred space, considering the fact that it’s all somehow directly in front of a trash can. The girls’ bathroom was entirely fine, though, which helps this ranking quite a bit. Both bathrooms were stocked up with tampons, pads, soap, and paper towels, which did help the space quite a bit. But neither bathroom is nearly chill enough. If you’re looking for conversation, this might be the place, but taking a poop always feels a bit awkward. Overall, this bathroom scored a 25 out of 50.
10. Link
The link bathroom truly is the seedy underbelly of the school. At least, it smells like it. There are resources aplenty, with a fully stocked paper towel roll and at least one working soap dispenser, but the sink runs for a watsingly long time after it gets turned on. Beyond that, this isn’t really the best environment for bathroom activities. Pooping in a room full of people who aren’t is always awkward, and rarely is anyone ever actually using this bathroom to use the bathroom, yet somehow people are always here. Some may appreciate the herbal nature of this room, but for a regular bathroom user, it’s not exactly a pleasant experience. Overall, this bathroom came out at a 14 out of 50 score.
