On Aug. 28, the JCP Drama Club announced the 2026 fall play: The Skin of Our Teeth.

The show is a dark-comedy written in 1942. The play observes global catastrophes through the lens of the Antrobus family, a suburban nuclear family in New Jersey. The time period is warped, so the family has to navigate their own personal drama along with major historical events. 

Using surreal imagery and dark humour, the play tracks different human inventions throughout time, like the wheel and the alphabet, as well as important times in history, like the Ice Age and the Great Flood. The play includes connections to the Bible, including parallels such as George Antrobus representing Adam and a scene that directly replicates the story of Noah’s Arc, creating an amalgamation of the history of the world and humanity. 

The general theater interest meeting is Wednesday during the second half of AcLab and after school at 3:30. The tech-specific interest meeting is on Sept. 8.
