Dear Reader,
The school year has begun once again, and with that, the Blueprint has gone back to print. Every year, our team of dedicated student journalists comes together to perform our civic duty of informing the public. No time is without challenge, yet this year may feel far more unusual than most. Conflicts regarding the Student Online Privacy Protection Act and Chicago Public Schools mean we will be without a website for the foreseeable future. At a time dominated by the digitalization of the press, we reverse commute. Our operation will be mostly composed of printed newspapers over the next year, releasing a greater quantity than last year. Keep your eyes peeled for frequent releases of our team’s work and reporting. There is no doubt that our press will look drastically different without our web presence, yet we soldier on! Student journalism is more important than you realize, and it is a privilege and an honor that the students of this school, year after year, place their trust in us to report, opine, and satirize what new is happening at our school. Thank you again. Get excited for a great year at the Jones Blueprint!
