Girls tennis preview
The Jones’ girls tennis season is underway. After a well played year in 2021, the Eagles are looking to build off momentum from last year.
“We’re working harder at practices, doing more conditioning. and running more drills,” said Hailey Radenbaugh ‘23, one of the team’s captains.
Along with extensive training and practice, the team is working to fill the holes left from the graduating class.
“We lost two seniors Elah and Noel. They were a solid doubles team, so we will definitely miss them this season. But I think our team is good. We brought up some really good juniors and a freshman,” said Blaire Richards ‘23, another captain.
Radenbaugh echoes those sentiments.
“Yeah, I definitely think that we’re still at the same level, like strength as a team as we were in the past years. So I think we’ll still be there,” said Radenbaugh.
Richards predicts the team will find itself amongst the top in the Chicago Public High School League.
“We predict that we’ll probably get third place in the city because that’s our usual place,” said Richards.
So far, the tennis team is 2-0.
